Revision "N" (above) submitted for further review (some new tenets [encompassing "F.L.I.P. Principles" and "The 5 Pledges", "The Function of Civil Authority" + much more, some as yet unnumbered others re-numbered/re-grouped, "shall" replaced by "will").
There may be some redundancy so some degree of consolidation will certainly be necessary; hopefully all feedback is included. As always - feel free to voice dissent and/or make suggestions.
Certainly these Tenets may be incorporated by the Republican Party, viewed as an accompaniment to the "Traditional Republic: Town Revival Platform" (http://www.anamericanrevival.com/) or accompaniement to another existing conservative element (I originally envisioned a "Common Sense Party", but a "Common Sense Platform" could be more readily considered).

Palin/Ryan, Romney/Palin or Palin/Beck under "Common Sense" in 2012!
We need someone like Sarah Palin and/or Glenn Beck and/or Sean Hannity for the Common Sense Party. Sarah Palin currently has no affiliation. Maybe if we act fast, we can recruit her. I don't know how to establish contact with her - I hope someone can..

If the U.S. is to flourish, liberalism must end. America must gravitate towards Conservative policies that uphold morality and preserve our national integrity.Christian faith and morals are values upon which our society, species, civilization, and country should be based.
Liberals have striven to eradicate religion in society under the banner of "separation of church and state" which was NEVER MEANT TO BE A SEPARATION OF GOD AND STATE but, rather, a deterrent to the aligning of government with any one particular Christian branch.

I fear that not even the Republican Party can hope to reign in a governmental system that has spiraled out of control, and I submit that nothing less than redefining and reinforcing our very foundation upon Common Sense logic is called for.
Such logic dictates that we create a strict political platform - the COMMON SENSE Platform.
Above is an outline of (approximately 76) basic tenets (revised per feedback) on which the COMMON SENSE Platform will be founded.
In reviewing the 9/12 articles after writing this first draft, it is noted that the 9th Principle has essentially been included. A philosophical addage adapted from Spock in "Star Trek II" also seemed appropriate.
This revised draft is certainly far from complete. Please feel free to edit, add to, delete from, expand, consolidate, revise and/or otherwise modify the content as you deem appropriate.
Not that I intend to control the content, but to maintain continuity and ensure consideration of all input, I ask that all suggestions be submitted to myself as well as posted publicly.
The goal is to create a clear and concise grouping of bylaws.

Let's examine the Pros and Cons of some of these provisions.
ReplyDeleteDo you see ONE problem situation right away?
Provision 3:
"Human Life will be protected from Conception until natural death."
So would you declare a fertilized egg to be a human being?
I understand you favor the proposed Amendment to the U.S. Constitution: the FEDERAL PERSONHOOD AMENDMENT (2008)
Purpose: "legal personhood is granted to all human beings"
and the Definition of human being:
Human being: Any organism, including the single-cell human embryo.
This gives the fertilized egg the same legal rights as a fetus at 5 months gestation and as a pregnant woman.
What will happen?
Now that the fertilized egg is legally a person -- & has the same legal standing as the pregnant woman:
Section 3: No unborn person shall be deprived of life by any person; however, nothing in this article shall prohibit a law allowing justification to be shown for only those medical procedures required to prevent the death of either the pregnant woman or her unborn offspring as long as such law requires every reasonable effort be made to preserve the life of each.
Section 4: Congress and the several States shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.
Here's just ONE example of a problem created:
What happens when there is an ectopic pregnancy? An ectopic pregnancy nearly always occurs in one of the fallopian tubes (tubal pregnancy). As the egg grows it destroys the fallopian tube, causes great pain & internal bleeding, usually life-threatening. The ectopic pregnancy must be removed. 1st an injection of the drug methotrexate is used to stop the growth of the egg and dissolve the egg. After the injection, if the egg is not dissolved, surgery is needed to remove the egg & repair the fallopian tube. If the fallopian tube is significantly damaged, it may need to be removed. If the ectopic pregnancy causes heavy bleeding or the fallopian tube has ruptured, emergency surgery is needed to remove the pregnancy.
What is being described here, like it or not, is an abortion.
This info is from the Mayo Clinic.
Now, because the fertilized egg is a person having the same legal rights as the mother, who should we let live? Legally they are both equal in rights. The doctor will be brought up on murder charges if he tries to dissolve the egg. Therefore surgery will be required in ALL cases.
Yet, the "Personhood Amendment" defines focusing on the life of the woman at the expense of the egg as MURDER. The doctor will have to make every effort to save the life of the egg. This delay makes it more & more difficult to save the woman's life, & if she survives she may be unable to bear children, & likely will suffer significant internal damage.
Will we get the egg a lawyer?
What's the woman to do?
What's a doctor to do?
Are you ready to give to the Federal Government broad new powers over our physicians? Suddenly the doctor will have to fear for his entire practice AND fear going to prison for murder if he cannot satisfy the government.
Would you want to be a doctor dealing with a government that does not understand medicine, but is going to be required to tell you how you can treat patients?
I wouldn't.
This provision advocates government control of health care.
Do you think government involvement in health care is a good idea?
Why would you be willing to give the government this type of power?
Lawyers certainly will make a lot of money off of this one. The egg will have the right to a lawyer, the parents will need a lawyer, & the doctor will need a lawyer - dozens of lawyers.
Government will have the Constitutional authority to meddle in your life as you have never seen before.
Your provision will create a Dictatorship. It will be a Tyranny interfering with you in the most minute detail.
Is it really a good idea to get government involved in dictating your life AND your health care?
Why would you want to create Tyranny?
This certainly is not limited government.
Whatever the size of government, common sense dictates that it should be a democracy. Democracy demands participation. My thought is if you want a democracy, then the best a representative can be is a cheerleader for ideas.
ReplyDeleteUltimately, all laws need to be subjected to a referendum to the People. If we had a referendum on most of these programs spending away our futher, they would not have passed.
Much of what was proposed in this are best accomplished by initiatives, referendums, recalls, and a popular vote for all public officials, including everyone in the Cabinet at this time appointed by the President with the advise and consent of the Senate.
